What if we focused just on capital cities? That's pretty brass tacks. That would look something like this:

UK & Ireland

  • London

  • Cardiff

  • Dublin

  • Belfast

  • Edinburgh
    Then onto the European mainland

  • Brussels

  • Amsterdam

  • Copenhagen

  • Stockholm

  • Helsinki

  • Berlin

  • Luxembourg

  • Paris

  • Madrid

  • Lisbon

  • Bern

  • Rome
    Out of the west, into Eastern Europe

  • Warsaw

  • Prague

  • Budapest

  • Vienna

  • Bratislava
    And then into the Balkans, to finish up

  • Sofia

  • Belgrade

  • Podgorica

  • Skopje

  • Athens

  • Istanbul
    Well... that's 28... still rather a lot, isn't it? Enough? Too much? Doable? Sheer madness to attempt?
    Time for more hot water.
