Itinerary: Where in the bloody Europe am I going?
The plan is that at some point in August I leave for Europe. I'll fly out of Portland, Oregon. That's about all I'm sure of!
Well, no, I take that back. Odds are we'll plunk me down in London, and I'll stay there for a few days. Fitting - the last time I went abroad (August 1999, 4 years ago once I leave) I started my trip with a few days in London then, too.
London's a great starting point anyway; the whole of Europe and the UK are accessible from there. Fly to Dublin? Sorted. Train north to Scotland (which admittedly is one of my first impulses, because Edinburgh is a second home to me) - no worries. Train or plane to the mainland? Easy.
Plan so far though, is for me to spend a few weeks moseying around Britain. Take the train through England and Wales, then up to Scotland for a while, then probably back to London. Where from there though? Here's a rough list of all the countries I'll be going to:
Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Czech Republic
Denmark
Finland
France
F.Y.R.O.M.
Germany
Greece
Holland
Hungary
Italy
Luxembourg
Montenegro
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Republic of Ireland
Serbia
Slovakia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Turkey
Yugoslavia
Makes my mouth water. Now to figure out how long where, and in what order for all these different places.
