Loving Greece
So far, I love Greece. I met Trevor at the airport, and it is so strange traveling with someone else. Instead of DOING things, we talk about them, and I constantly worry if what we are doing is okay with both of us. Still, it is amazing to be with him. Three months of not seeing each other, and we are right where we left off. Mind you, we’ve been together for nearly six years, so we are so close.

We’re staying at the Student Travelers Inn in Athens just for one night, and are leaving to go to Ios in several hours. The Inn is great—quite comfortable, friendly staff, WONDERFUL location. We walked to the Acropolis yesterday which is immense. I highly recommend visiting in the early or later parts of the day to avoid the insane heat.
Greek food is also fabulous. We ate at Lonely Planet reviewed restaurant Byzantium, and ordered way too much food: olives, spinach feta pie, greek salad, stuffed tomatoes, fried zucchini with garlic paste. It was AMAZING, more food than we could eat, for only 23 euro. Yum. Later, we went to Bretto’s to gaze at the colored bottles lit up (just go there and you’ll see what I’m talking about), and drink sweet wine. For dinner, we went to Eden, a vegetarian restaurant, and ate well: Bombay spiced potatoes, vegetable balls, spicy chilli beans–so good. Trevor and I like to eat, and I can tell this vacation will be about eating. I wish I could say we went out dancing, but after 2 drinks at Bretto’s, wine with dinner, and not enough sleep because of our flights, we crashed.
Still, I adore Greece.
